We recently attended a site where the existing sliding gate had suffered damage beyond repair. Upon further inspection, we also identified that the original gate did not meet current safety regulations.

Our team proposed and successfully installed a fully compliant cantilever sliding gate system with a 4.3m span and 0.9m height, including a 6.3m runback. This robust solution features a 200 x 50mm weldmesh infill for added durability and safety.

To meet BS EN 12453 safety standards, we integrated:

• Twin photocell safety sensors

• Category 3 safety edges

• Emergency stop button

• Flashing warning beacon

The gate has been seamlessly wired into the site’s existing 4-keypad access control system and the remote receiver has been tested and confirmed working. Additionally, we installed a new SIM-based receiver.

Force testing has been completed and the gate fully complies with current safety standards.
